THE FADO MUSIC THAT AWAKENED A PATIENT OF ALZHEIMER
An 87-year-old woman suffers from the terrible Alzheimer’s disease. One day, when she heard the fado “Time Does not Stop”, sung by Mariza (fado singer), she began to reproduce it, to hum it.
This moment moved his son, the photographer Rogério Paulo Gonçalves. He decided to pay homage to his Mother and with that, too, fado, as music.
Throughout 2017, he photographed many artists on stage and also in fado houses, namely Adega Machado and Café Luso. In these establishments he photographed Celeste Rodrigues, Isabel Noronha, Bárbara Santos, Pedro Moutinho and Marco Rodrigues.
The exhibition opens on July 4 at Espaço Santa Casa (Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa).
In addition to the mentioned artists will be fixed in image Raquel Tavares (fadista), Suzana (fado singer), Dulce Pontes (fado singer), Joana Rios (fado singer), Marta Pereira da Costa (Portuguese guitar), Mariza (fado singer), Pedro Jóia (guitar), Fábia Rebordão (fado singer), Ana Moura (fado singer) Gisela João (fado singer) and Carlos do Carmo (fado singer).
